Monday – speed training – 6.17 miles @ 9:22 pace
- 1 mile @ mile race effort, 3 min walk (7:37)
- 1 mile @ 10k-1/2 marathon effort, 2 min walk (8:06)
- 1/2 mile @ 1/2 mile pace, 3 min walk (3:49 or 7:39 pace. Definitely not 1/2 mile pace ha!)
- 1 mile @ 10k-1/2 marathon effort (8:26)
- warmup and cool down
I didn’t look at my watch for this because it was freezing cold and I was also focusing on not slipping on ice. Pretty pleased with the effort considering I was aiming for 8:30 pace for the half marathon intervals.
Tuesday – 45 min easy run – 4 miles @ 10:11, realistically 40:49 easy run
Wednesday – off day
Thursday – speed training – 5.48 miles @ 8:55 pace
- 30 min progression run (8:46, 8:23, 8:20)
- warm up and cool down
Another pleased effort. Really excited to see my training and fitness improve.
Friday – unplanned off day
I have been battling some tenderness in my foot. Took a few steps into my run and just knew it needed more time, especially if I wanted to knock out my long run.
Saturday – 70 minute long run – 7.28 miles @ 9:32 pace
Sunday – off
I was going to try to do an easy run, but I just figured another day to help rest my foot, especially after my long run was ideal.
Stick around for another 14 weeks of my GE Appliances Kentucky Derby Mini training!
