Time for
In 2014, I ran the Rock n Roll Chicago Half Marathon. This was the year I ran Nashville, St. Louis and Chicago in the same year. What an exciting race series and I just had so much fun!
You may think, “redemption for what?” Honestly, after looking back and seeing my time, I thought the same thing. I also thought that there was wishful thinking to get a time like that again, but then I reminded myself it wasn’t about the time.
When I see these results, I am so proud of myself. The reason I want redemption is, I walked at the end. Yes, walking isn’t shameful and I do it a lot lately, but I want to run a half marathon again feeling good and finishing the whole thing strong and confident!
I chose Chicago because it’s hard for me to remember the race until I got to the walking part where I walked by the river. I remember the course being relatively flat and pretty. So I chose this one as my optimistic re-do.
After my awful half marathon in October, I thought I would never run a half marathon again. I walked so much of it and also hurt everywhere. I was physically in so much pain because I failed to train. I also hurt my knee in the second mile and if you have been following, then you know it still isn’t better.
I haven’t been able to go to the doctor because I was from one new job to another new job. I finally have an appointment this Wednesday.
I am hoping it isn’t anything serious and can get fixed, so that I can start training!
I am
I hope to be this happy during the race, but also at the end. I hope to be healthy through the whole race and training season. I hope to be strong. I am so freaking excited to get going!
