Week 2 of half marathon training for Mo’ Cowbell Half Marathon (referral code.) Okay, so I’m giving to whole HR thing a try since finally I’m seeing sub 150 bpm on my runs. It’s making for some really long runs or should I say shorter since I’m technically going by time, some days mileage. I have to take some walk breaks to lower it once it goes over my zone, but I haven’t minded since it is the heat of summer. I actually love summer running and we are investing in heating and air conditioner for our gym in the garage so once that’s installed, I’ll be golden for the extreme heat that is sure to come.

Week 2 complete. Definitely in the building phase. I looked ahead to the actual workouts in the future and it looks like a couple weeks of hill repeats and then we hit the speed stuff. That will be interesting! I think I’ll most likely stay with only 5 days of running rather than 6 in the future, but we will see when the time comes.
I also placed a Honey Stinger (referral link) order and my gels and chews arrived. So I’ll be testing those out once I have a longer run in training.
Then I ordered a pair of the new Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 to test out. I’ll definitely be ordering more colors once the full launch arrives (August 1st.)
